I am a National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) postdoctoral scholar in the department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at UCSF since June 2016.

My current research focuses on validating hyperpolarized 13C Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Imaging (HP 13C MRSI) method for in vivo monitoring of neuroinflammation and specifically oxidative stress in preclinical models of Multiple Sclerosis and Traumatic Brain Injury.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. As a Ph.D. student, my research focused on, on the one hand, developing magnetic resonance (MR)-based imaging methods to non-invasively monitor brain changes in preclinical models for Multiple Sclerosis, and on the other hand, developing immune-modulatory therapies in the context of demyelination and associated neuro-inflammation in Multiple Sclerosis.
 
In my free time I participate in the department running club and I love spending the weekends at one of the many festivals and exhibitions in always sunny San Francisco.
